Pipeline fire kills 14 in AP

News filtering in of a GAIL pipeline blast in Andhra Pradesh which has reportedly killed 14 people. Read the story in this link

    The photo is instructive. I wish the reporter collected some information on the approx time the explosion was noted.

    The photo shows a rather clean cut appearance of the pipe end and also the second end of the pipe is not visible. If , as stated, this was a pipe in service supplying gas under pressure to the Lanco

  2. Continuing.. Power plant, of a pipe laid approx 2 m below ground, the leak could have originated from a crack. We don't see wrapping and coating on outside of pipe. Also, where is oxygen below ground?
    Wonder if this is a spud and some maintenance work on pipe was going on and unexpectedly line got charged.
    Wonder what time the incident took place.
