Welding work with an argon mixture was performed inside a road tanker. During lunchtime the welding torch was left inside the tank, and as the valve was not properly closed, argon escaped. When the welder re-entered the tank, he lost consciousness, but was rescued in time. Equipment that is connected to a gas source, except air, must never be left inside confined spaces during lunch breaks, etc. Merely closing the valves is not a guarantee against an escape of gas. If any work with inert gas is carried out in vessels, etc. take care with adequate ventilation or the use of proper breathing equipment.

Sir, 7th April 2020, a plant near Nakkapalli village in Andhra Pradesh has reported an incident where one junior chemist got unconscious while cleaning a reactor in pharmaceutical company. The person was tried to be rescued by his supervisor who also fell unconscious due to nitrogen gas inhalation. Finally the junior chemist died and the supervisor is still in unconscious state. Happened during COVID 19 shutdown cleaning activities. I suggest People should be careful as the skill level of people cannot be estimated when we work with less number of crew. in normal case thier competency is compensated by others.
