H2S leak at manganese plant in China kills 3

In a manganese plant in China, three people were killed due to a H2S leak. The manufacture of manganese involves reducing the milled ore, which is then dissolved in acid solution, followed by purification.The solution is then fed into the electrolytic cells, where manganese is deposited on the cathodes. Sulphuric acid, formed at the anodes, is re-cycled back to the dissolution process.
